Hi,Continuation of this topic: https://community.ifs.com/products-manufacturing-products-engineering-40/master-scheduling-for-configured-parts-30168---------------------------------Background:There is a configurable finished good, DOP handled. One of its major configuration characteristics is width. There are 10-20 different values (widths). For each width there is a phantom configured manufactured part created, DOP handled. Occurance of each width/phantom part is controlled by configuration rules. Under each phantom part (=width) there is a list of "real" components in different types - manufactured configured, manufactured non-configured, purchased. Subject:Forecasting using Master Schedule. Business would like to register forecasts in MS for each WIDHT. This is the level where forecasts are possible to establish. We cannot register forecast value for finished good part level, as this summarized information is too inaccurate and cannot be just disaggregated using 'Usage Factor'. We c
Hello Community. We have this case. There are thousands of components placed in thousands of Configuration Structures.Configuration rules make sure that those components will never be used again. They are considered as obsolete. But those components are still visible in Costing (main inconvenience) and MRP.How to clean them up easily? Creating new Configuration Structure revision for thousands of Parts is not an option. Also running "Engineering\Structure\Phase Out or Replace Structure Component" one by one is not an option. It would be possible to change them into 'Not Consumed' by migration job, but this would be helpful in MRP. Costing would still see them because for different reason we have INCLUDE_NOT_CONSUMED = Yes.Only option that comes to my mind is to create migration job, that will run CONFIG_STRUCTURE_API.Remove_ on selected records (inactive components perhaps).Any other ideas appreciated.Regards, Lukasz
Hi Community, I’d like to get to know your opinion about forecasting process when using Configured Parts. Do we have any tool or workaround in IFS 9? Master Scheduling works for Part level, doesn’t support configuration. Configuration whereas determines multilevel BOM and lets you know purchase components. The goal here is to establish rough procurement plan and secure crucial long lead-time materials when there are no Customer Orders yet. Any ideas / tips&tricks would be appreciated. Regards, Lukasz
Hello, We have encountered an interesting issue. I wonder if anyone has a solution to this. Process which we would like to have in IFS is:Company manufactures Part A that is serial tracked and it should stay this way.In most cases Part A is a finished good, but sometimes is further processed. If further processed, Part A is a component to another manufactured Part - B. Part B is also serial tracked and it should stay this way.Part B, in simplification, is made by cutting one piece of Part A into two pieces of Part B.So, from one serial number of Part A we receive two serial numbers of Part B. #There is no way to create Product Structure of Part B including component Part A, as qty in assembly cannot be 0.5 for serial tracked parts.#There is no way to receive serial-tracked By-Product.#There is no way to issue on Shop Order (lot size = 2) just one piece of A and receive 2 pieces of B.Running out of option here, or is it just lack of imagination? :) I'd be grateful for any ideas.Regards,
