In our environment in APPS9 we are performing an import of BudgetTransaction using External File Assistant.In one of our companies, this is additive. In other companies all existing lines on the Budget Template are removed, and only the lines in the import file are added.We would like the behavior to be consistent but have so far been unable to locate the parameter or reason for the different behavior across companies.
I am keen understand what the practices others are following with regard to version/change control of permission sets in IFS. We have tried Exporting Permission sets via XML to a version control system SVN/Git Repository with mixed success. If carried out diligently, is that it provides a full audit and commentary and it is possible to restore the old permission set (it does need to be imported as a new name)However, it is easily forgotten or skipped in a rush, and we were finding that a large number of Permission sets were updated with either Quick Report or IAL deployment. Exporting each permission set in this scenario was not workable..We are keen to audit/track permissions changes that grant/revoke the Functional Areas that we have defined within Segregation of Duties analysis. We are now looking to capture changes to this with a daily report (using two IALs that snapshot the access on alternative days). This will allow us to interrogate and possibly ensure compliance with the exte
We have a number of suppliers where our delivery terms are Ex Works, and we am looking to implement a process where we take ownership of the goods when they are dispatched from the supplier location. Currently we register arrival when the goods land at the destination. The requirement is to record the goods in inventory when the leave the supplier location, but also maintain a available date which reflects the transit time to the destination site. I am considering registering arrival at the point of dispatch from the supplier and using an internal transit time to control the available in inventory date. Would anyone be willing to share any experiences in this area? Is there any functionality that i might be overlooking?
Since Thursday we have started seeing a number of Oracle Errors in the Database Alert Log. This appears to be when a user queries a screen with an Object Connection to DocReferenceObject If the Attachment pane is open on the users screen the error is show in the foreground, however if it is minimized it logs the error in the background and the user is unaware (fortunately) Given that it started just last week it would make sense that it is related to a change, new report, event, but i have searched and cannot find anything that might be causing it. I have a ticket open with support but in case others have experienced the same issue or have any ideas on how to troubleshoot. I am attempting to adjust the net value of an asset using the Change Net Value function in IFS9 (update 16). When reducing the value to zero in the base currency, the new net value in the parallel currency becomes negative. As a result the following error is preventing me from creating the transaction.Residual value in parallel currency of object xxxx for the event date xxxxx cannot be smaller than zero The value in the parallel currency appears to be set based on the spot rate, whereas the net value in parallel currency is a blended rate from the various investments/depreciations. Parallel currency for the company is Accounting CurrencyAny ideas on how to work around this?Thanks
Is it possible to configure IFS (Apps9) so that the Intercompany Invoice is sent and printed?We need a hard copy of the invoice to accompany the physical shipment, but we also want the invoice to be sent via MHS to the External Supplier Invoice on the receiving site.If we select set the INVOIC message as the Method Default, the invoice is sent. If we uncheck this the invoice is printed. Is it possible to enable both outputs concurrently.
Looking to get some insight into how people have setup IFS for selling through Fulfilled by Amazon. We retain ownership of the inventory whilst it is in the Amazon warehouse, until the point it is sold to the end customer.We intended to do this using Customer Consignment. So the proposed flow would be Process a Customer Order on IFS using Customer Consignment to stock the Amazon warehouse. Sales are processed on Amazon - Self Billing Invoice Received from Amazon - Customer Consignment stock is consumed and invoiced Replenishment order raised as per step 1 ...cycle continuesHowever, we have Package Parts that we intend to sell through Amazon and this has posed a challenge to the above. In version 9 at least Package Parts and Consignment do not appear to be compatible. We are in the process of implementing consignment stock internally across companies in IFS9. We have come across one or two features in IFS which makes me question whether the system was designed to handle this scenario. Is anyone working in this way in their environment and willing to share experiences?The setup is as follows.Demand Site - Site A/Company 1. Supplier for Purchase Part set to Ownership Consignment, purchasing from Site B Supply Site - Site B/Company 2 - Customer Consignment Stock for customer (Site A)When we create and release a distribution order, the Ownership setting on the Supplier for Purchase Part is ignored, and the ownership is set to Company Owned. We can however update this manually.The Customer Order linked to the distribution order is created with the Consignment flag checked automatically.If we set the Distribution Order to Automatic Receipt, it does not perform the receipt if the Ownership on the PO is Consignment.
Hello. I am looking into the setup of a Freight Price list for our US customer base. I have setup a Freight Map and Freight Price List for Fedex Priority, with the Zone Defined by Zip Code. This allows for a numeric range of Zip Codes as shown below. This is working when a 5 digit Zip code is used. The problem i have encountered is when the Customer Address is in the ZIP+4 format (XXXXX-XXXX). In this case the Freight Zone is not found. Is there another way to approach this, or have i missed something in the setup?
