Hi Shneor,I hadn’t shared the solution, because in my case it’s not working 100% - we believe this may because of other sorts in place in the native app??However in most cases this should work:UI designer for the screen / Edit Child Relations / Select the Parent and Related table (in my case it was request_unit and request) / Add in an ‘Order By’ at the bottom (in my case the Name for this was request.created_dttm)
Thanks for your reply Shneor. I was looking for a way to make the sort permanent for the screen. Morris Ruben (IFS) showed me how to use UI Designer - child relationships to add in a sort to the table and field that displays for the screen.
@Hariharan.P I did not even realize i could use SQLite within these client scripts. This opens up a lot of possibilities. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this in easy to understand terms.Regards, CJ
@Hariharan.P You’ve lost me there.. I have only ever used client scripts within the FSM smart client app for refreshing mobile screens. How would i have the mobile app point towards an SQLite script to refresh the screen of a mobile user out in the field?fyi, yes I do have a custom field created for this already, thanks.
Thanks for the quick reply @Hariharan.P I see what you mean, and that explains why this function highlights, and appears enabled, within client scripts, but does not work with mobile scripts. So is there some other solution to my original problem. Within a mobile script how can i parse out the characters I need from a variable? E.g. var serialId = ‘12345/01’; I would only want the characters preceding the ‘/’ so in this case: ‘12345’
Hello @Hariharan.P ,I’m replying on behalf of qquac - we both work at the same company. The use of the stringSplit function in client scripts is referenced as a solution in another question posted on this forum: Also, the function appears to be active because it highlights in purple within the client script.Running this in SQLite is not a solution, because this is for a mobile screen refresh.Let me know if i’m missing something? Thanks, CJ
@Steve Hurst Not sure if you got me earlier reply, but thanks so much Steve. This works perfectly now
Hi @Lee Pinchbeck I am relatively new to this so thanks for your patience. I”ve never tried filtering in mobile studio, mostly i’ve been doing this in client scripts to refresh/populate screen fields. I took a stab at it, see screenshot below; however this did not make any difference - still showed line codes with the field ‘user_def1’ populated with ‘PR’
Hi @Steve Hurst I”m running a client script to populate the ‘Fees’ (DebriefMileage) screen on mobile with only select Line Codes - those with the field ‘user_def1’ not populated with ‘PR’, see 1st screenshot. The script runs fine in SQL only returns those line codes that do not have ‘PR’, however when i refer to this in my refresh script to populate values, it greys out the line code selection field on mobile - so it doesn’t like the “...user_def1 <> ‘PR’..” in the populateListFromQuery line
