Hi, Thank you both for taking the time to answer. Regards,Kevin
Thanks Shawn and Matt for your help.
Have you tried logging into the database through sql developer/sqlpus as ifsprint using the usual IFS passwords. If the ifsprint password hasn’t changed since installation, then it IFS should be able to give it to you. Probably just need to open a ticket.
Here is a screenshot from a migration job where we used this function, we used the file migration first though. From what I remember this is documented in the technical documentation and they use the business opportunity as the example.
We are on apps9. I would use a file data migration job to load the csv into the database and then use plsql procedure and api’s to update the relevant objects in IFS. You would need something to copy the file from FTP to the utl_file_dir.
There is a zip file attached to this help page. I have attached it here also.
Hi @TheoB No, the binary data would at some point contain an xml special character (<,>) that would invalidate the xml document and then it would no longer be possible to parse the document. Base64 does not contain any of these characters. Regards, Kevin
Hi @TheoB Did you base 64 encode the invoice pdf/jpg file?If you need to test, use this link to convert the file to base64 and paste the generated base64 into the attachments element. Then import again.File to Base64 | Base64 Encode | Base64 Converter | Base64
Hi @cwright Here is the xml file we use. Also, need to add row to supplier/message setup with media code e-invoice.Regards,Kevin
Actually works fine. Here is the invoice attachment in case it is of use to anybody else.
Apps9. When we clone from live to test, we have a script to update the following: fnd_setting_tab (system parameters from explorer):Parameter:URL_HELP_BASEREPDES_GRAPHICSURL_EXT_SERVERCR_VIRTUAL_DIRECTORY The CONN_STR parameter on the PLSQLAP_ENVIRONMENT_TAB. For data migrations:update the intface_path on the intface_header_tab to change the path on all data migrations. If you are using docman with ftp or file share you might want to check the edm repositories to ensure test and live are not referring to the same location. A script to disable the email report rules to prevent statements/invoices getting email automatically. We change the smtp host/port to an internal dummy smtp server on the test system. You might need to check the ACL. We don’t run the reconfiguration of the application server. I think you still need to take some of these changes into consideration though. After the configuration, you can compare live with test. Hope this is of some use.
Hi Hans, We have an external process that imports documents into docman. We are using a file share. The same principal should apply to FTP though. We use the API to create a new document and a new file reference (EDM_FILE). The EDM_FILE record points to the file, it contains the location and the filename. We then move the file to this location outside IFS. To test this, you can import a small document into docman. Use the EDM_FILE record to locate it on the disk. Then replace that file with the large 10GB file. Personally, I would not use docman for illustrator files. If you generated a PDF what size would this be? I would use the PDF in document control as it is possible linked to parts or customer orders or something. There are probably better tools out there for illustrator revision control. This is a matter of personal choice though.
Hi Mike, Just tried that, with no luck. Thanks for the suggestion. Regards, Kevin
Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply, is that running the installer.cmd and selecting the recoonfigure option. I have done that, no joy I am afraid. Kevin
