Error "sub part is of serial type and parent part is not of serial type"

When trying to add a component in the structure of an Engineering Part Revision I get the error “sub part is of serial type and parent part is not of serial type!”. I don’t get that error when adding that same component into that same product structure of Inventory Parts :-(

Is there any way to deactivate that check and avoid this error when I alter my Engineering Part Revision ?

Hi @Nico Bens ,

This is the IFS core functionality. If the Parent part (Engineering Part) is not serial tracked, we cannot add a serial-tracked component part / child part under that parent part. Reverse direction is possible, anyway.
