I want to set up the optical character recognition (OCR) function. This is based in the assistant function ‘Scan Customer Order’. When I try to use it i get the error message: ‘The Machine Learning Service is not accessible. Please ensure that the Machine Learning Service is enabled.’
Now I looked through different sources in the IFS-documentation how to enable the Machine Learning Service. So my result is:
- To enable this, I have to change the Object Key = ‘SCAN_CUSTOMER_ORDER’ to the ID from mine Machine Learning Configuration ID (https://docs.ifs.com/techdocs/22r2/030_administration/200_add_administration/060_scan_customer_order_config/)

To do this, I need my own model trained with IFS Planning & Scheduling Optimization (PSO).
This raises some questions for me:
- Why do I need a custom model for a basic task like OCR? Is there no standard model that IFS can provide?
- What do I need to do to set up the PSO and connect to the IFS Cloud? Is there a step by step guide to do this?
FYI: We are using the 22R2 Version of IFS
