Do you know about the Debug Console? Shift+Ctrl+D.
I work with this tool every day and “listen” to the commands the GUI is sending to the ORACLE database. Even when you are not familiar with databases, views and tables just think about the knowledge you gain, when you know what happens when you search for a customer, an order or you
start a task with a rigth mouse button (RMB) task.
You start to get a bigger view about the system and the way things correspond.
At least it helps to ask better questions.
