Validating UK VAT Numbers

Hi,

 

Just wondering if there is a solution to validating UK VAT numbers post Brexit.

 

We have used the IFS API up till now which links to VIES EU website. Unfortunately all UK (GB) VAT numbers have now been removed from the site and the validation no longer works.

 

UK government have set up a new website that can validate the UK VAT numbers only.

 

Interested to know what other companies are doing regarding this issue/IFS solution to enable the validation of VAT numbers through multiple sites without having to revert to manual processes.

Hi Helen, 

We have the same issue with Apps 9. Currently, our staff is manually validating the UK VAT using the website below. 

 "https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-vat-number/enter-vat-details";

as a workaround, we are planning to develop an RMB to invoke the UK Government tax validation API to validate the VAT numbers until IFS fix this issue.
