Hi All,

When we navigate to the  “Change Order” Screen and opening some documents below error appears

Customer has recently upgraded the application from App8 to Cloud 22R2, and this error appears only for documents came from App8. When downloaded the documents, the document is getting downloaded, but when try to open it, we get the below error.

this error is appearing for any document, including images.

The repository type of the documents is 'Database' and the documents are accessible via the database. That means the files are available in the database.

Following is the detailed error message we are getting.

We do not get any error messages as well in the 'log window'.

What could be a reason for this.

If there is none already, create a new document and upload a PDF file to it. Attach it to some object (that has a non-working document) and make sure the "eye command" (view) works for that record.

Then compare the data for the two documents in these entities:

  • DocReferenceObject
  • DocTitle
  • DocIssue
  • EdmFile
  • EdmFileStorage

The more similar you make the new document (same class, same title, etc.), the easier it will be to spot the difference.

Hi Mathias,

Below are the differences obtained.

Following are the differences new viewable document doc(1099065) vs Old document(1000051)

edm_file_storage View

edm_file View

doc_issue View

doc_title View

doc_reference_object View

edm_file_storage View

'1099065', '1099064' are new documents other(100051) is older one.

In the old document it seems the OBJKEY is missing.

Apart from that, we noted, the same document is visible in App8. So hopefully this shouldn’t be an issue in the the DB side if I’m correct. Also, we were informed that the documents can be documents on their internal PaaS server.

I wonder if those documents are actually stored in the database. I recommend you investigate that (there should be records in the EdmFileStorage entity and the file content is stored in the FileData attribute).

My bad. You wrote you could always download the documents. I cannot explain this. You need to, or someone needs to, dig further to see what differs between the groups of documents. Check the access as well, the repository used (I can see the names are different).

Good luck!
