When I download a PDF invoice, the file name is a concatenation of our Document Title + Repository File Name.

How can we change this so that the downloaded PDF does NOT include the repository file name?

This is a file that can be manually sent to our customers, and the file name is confusing - it makes it look like the invoice number is the document number.

@hreavis what is the track you are using?

Try and use the document class process action to set the Name file using option to Original file name for the respective file operation and see.

When I download a PDF invoice, the file name is a concatenation of our Document Title + Repository File Name.

It's not actually the repository file name, it's the four key attributes/column of the document revision that we show inside parentheses, with space and hyphens as separators. It looks very similar, of course.

The reason we do that is to make sure the file name is unique when it's downloaded to your PC, and also so that you can easily understand which document you downloaded.

But give the option Dishmi mentioned a try and see if you like it better.

Or simply rename the file to suit your needs after it has been downloaded 🙂

If you want to automate a rename according to some logic it's also possible to create a document macro that will rename the file after it has been downloaded.

Good luck!
