Hey everyone, when trying to enter a number into any field, such as part number or PO number or work order, can we just type it in the box, or do we need hit the magnifying glass to type the part number in to search it and then have it open up?
You must always search first using the magnifying glass if you want to search. You can’t just enter the information into the box on the displayed form. If you are trying to create a new record by typing in data, then you would need to click New or Add button first.
Even if I know the exact part number i am wanting to see the information on? Appreciate the answer
Yes - doesn’t matter. The form isn’t a search box, it is a display or data entry view. The search button or F3 is what I use in V9 brings up the search dialog with all of the tools for searching each field. It is different if you are used to something else, but after doing it for a month or two it will be second nature.
