Scheduling Direction & Earliest Start Date - IFS9

I have two questions in regards to scheduling direction:

  • How/where do you set the default for the scheduling direction on a shop order - ours currently defaults to BACKWARDS?
  • Can the Earliest Start Date be defaulted?  Currently we experience the earliest start date always being the day the shop order is created.  We want to have this be the Need Date minus the cycle time from the routing.

Thanks!

In another thread just today - not possible according to IFS

Earliest Start Date for a new shop order would always be today by definition.  The Start Date is the Need Date minus the cycle time from the routing.  You would only have that changed by having an overnight job to make Earliest Start = Start or something like that.

Hi @carp1095 ,

As stated by @ShawnBerk  Scheduling Direction is predefined as Backward and it is not possible to change using any basic data setup. However, you can introduce a custom event to trigger at shop order creation point to set the scheduling direction as Forward.

If the Earliest start date is a fixed date or a date that can generate using a logic then this also can be handled through a custom event.

Hope this help.
