Hello,

We are about to begin an upgrade project from IFS9 to IFS Cloud. Originally, the project was scheduled to start in January, but it was delayed due to planning on the customer's end. During January, we had already set the upgrade build home to version 23.2.5.

With the release of 24R1, we are considering performing a release update on the lifecycle portal and recreating a new build home for the upgrade from IFS9. However, we are concerned about whether this update will impact the upgrade scripts that are currently set in the 23.2.5 build home.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation, and could you provide advice on the best steps forward?

Thank you,
Hardik

Hi Hardik,

If you are going to recreate the build home, you need to use that upgrade build home as a baseline for your upgrade instead of 23.2.5.

Thank you,

Manoj

Thanks @MAKU !

What is your suggestion here, shall we go ahead with the release update first and recreate the build home or just stick to 23.2.5?

Will there be any impact in the upgrade scripts if we recreate the build home after release update?
Any additional steps to be take before starting the upgrade?

Regards,
Hardik

Hi Hardik,

Yes. You will get the up-to-date upgrade scripts if R&D has released any patches.

You don’t need to do any additional steps, download the newly created upgrade build home and start the upgrade process from scratch.

Note: I assume that no one has yet committed any developments to the repository. If this is the case, the recreate upgrade build will include those changes as well.

Best regards,

Manoj

Many changes @MAKU !

Nope nothing committed yet in the repository, so i think i can go ahead with your suggestion.

Best regards,

Hardik
