We run Apps8 on Oracle 11G, purchased the ASFU Oracle Enterprise Edition through IFS and pay our annual support and maintenance via IFS.

We are in the process of migrating to a new data centre and want to take the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version of Oracle certified by IFS for Apps 8 which appears to be 12.1.0.2

In order to download the media, we need our Oracle CSI number but are having trouble obtaining that from IFS. Alternatively, we need IFS to download the media on our behalf and load in to our FTP site on the Support Centre. This is proving problematical.

Anyone got any experience on how to get Oracle media or CSI details ?

Thanks

David

Hi @dthackray66 ,

We’ve recently upgraded ASFU Oracle Enterprise Edition 12c to Oracle 19c to keep our IFS Application 10 environment on a supported version of Oracle.  We received our ASFU Oracle Enterprise Edition via the IFS FTP site.  We had opened a case with IFS requesting the latest version of Oracle for IFS Application 10 after we talked with our account manager.

The files are pretty large so I would recommend having a internet connection with a good bit of bandwidth to make the downloads quick.

Hi David,

I don’t think you will be allocated an Oracle CSI license when you purchase AFSU license from IFS.

Oracle CSI is assigned to clients who purchase their DB license directly from Oracle.

Your best option is to request IFS for the Oracle 12.1.0.2 install media and have them upload the files to your FTP Portal. They may also include any Oracle patches addressing major issues uncovered in the past.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Sri

Srikanth/Wiliam - thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

We have asked both our IFS Account Manager and our Customer Success Manager for assistance but as of yet they have been unable to get the media made available to us.

Good to know we are following the correct process, will keep pursuing.

Thanks again

David
