Can anyone please explain what system process is changing the Required Date on Material Lines on shop orders? Some process is resetting the dates to the Shop Order Header Start Date.

We have a business requirement that when a user changes this date it needs to be preserved.

Initial possibilities.

  • If the shop order originated from a customer order line with a Supply Code = Shop Order, it is possible that changes to dates or quantities on the customer order line are being propagated to the supplying (pegged) shop order.
  • If a user manually runs the routine Update ESD (Earliest Start Date) According to Material Availability, the ESD in the header will change, affecting material date requirements.
  • If the material lines are connected to the first operation on the order and the first operation is rescheduled (manually, APB, etc.) the date requirement of this material will change accordingly.

Thanks for you answer, we don’t use customer orders.

Is there a way to disconnect the material line required dates from the first operation, so that manual changes to the required date won’t be overwritten by the system when operation dates change?
