Hello,

I’m trying to figure out if it is possible to change the location on a Purchase Order Line after a change order has been made against a purchase order. Below are the steps used to recreate (we are in 23R1 - 23.1.7).

  • Create a purchase order
  • Release Purchase Order
  • Go to one of the lines, select Order Line Address and Select a location (Under Delivery Info)
  • Create a Change Order
  • Change a quantity value by one
  • Release Change Order
  • Update Purchase Order from Change Order
  • Go Back to Purchase Order and try to change the Location No on one of the lines, and get the following error:

"This Purchase Order is associated to one or more Purchase Order Change Order(s). When using Purchase Order Change Orders, all changes needs to be registered on the Change Order and it is not allowed to register changes directly on the Purchase Order."

How do you change the location on a PO line after a change order has been created?

Within the Change Order, the similar screen that allows for location changes will not allow for it. The Location No Field is not editable.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kyle

Hi @kmonto,

Checked this in IFS 23R1.SU13 and I was able to update the location details on a Purchase Order Line after a change order has been made against a purchase order. In site level hope you have enabled the Enforce Use of Purchase Order Change Orders. If this check box is selected, all changes to a released purchase order that directly or indirectly affects the value of the purchase order needs to be processed via a purchase order change order. If the check box is not selected, changes could be registered directly on the released purchase order or optionally via a purchase order change order.

(This value could be overridden per supplier-->Purchase--->PO Change Management)

Hi @kmonto,

When you have a purchase order change order (POCO) created against a purchase order (which is not cancelled or a baseline), it is similar to having ‘enforce the use of purchase order change order’. Hence the error you have indicated in the attachment "This Purchase Order is associated to one or more Purchase Order Change Order(s). When using Purchase Order Change Orders, all changes needs to be registered on the Change Order and it is not allowed to register changes directly on the Purchase Order.", is triggered.

As the message explains, since the user has chosen to use POCO for this purchase order, all subsequent changes should also go through POCO. This is because, the intention of POCO functionality was to allow the user keeping track of changes done between revisions and if some
changes were done through POCO and some were not, it is not possible to ensure that all changes are captured to be analyzed.
