Hi, does anyone know how to create a warehouse task from transport task?

(I’m using APPS 10)

and for warehouse task, does it only support the link to:

transport task, shop order pick, customer order pick?

how about customer order delivery ?

Hi @Shou :

You can create a warehouse task from transport task as below:

  1. Create a PO (Receive case: Receive in to Inventory) → Release PO → Receipt with Receive in to Arrival ( to an arrival location)
  2. PO status goes to ‘Arrived’
  3. Go to Receipt window

  1. Details tab - Move with Transport Task

  1. Enter request To location

  1. Transport task is created now. Again details tab → Transport task

  1. Below is the transport task created
  1. Go to Warehouse Task and search Source Info:
  1. Warehouse task ->Transport Task tab is enabled now

In this way, you can create a Warehouse Task from Transport Task.

Further,

There are three predefined warehouse task types in the application. Those are:

  • Customer Order Pick List
  • Transport Task
  • Shop Order Pick List

The warehouse tasks are created if the task type is activated for the specific site. Customer Order Delivery is not included in it

Warehouse Task Basic Data need to be used to define the relevant basic information.

Additionally, you can follow the below link for more details:

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

@Lakmini Weerakoon

Thanks for your detailed & prefect answer.

Just one concern,

from your description, seems the warehouse-task of transport-task can only be created from phurcahse receipt.

Can we create a  warehouse-task  from general transport-task(eg: for general inventory move or site-to-site move)?

Thanks,

Hi @Shou ,

Yes, the general Transport Tasks (including general inventory move, site-to-site move) are also creating a Warehouse Task record. When you do a site-to-site move, just make sure the inventory part record is created in both sites.

Also, the Transport task you create from ‘Inventory Part in Stock’ window too creates a Warehouse Task . This is also similar to a general inventory move.

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Not only via the purchase receipts.

If the warehouse task basic data were defined for the site as Lakmini mentioned, then system creates ‘Warehouse task/s’ when you enter transport tasks manually to move parts between locations.

@Lakmini Weerakoon @Rangi Wijewardana

Thank you for answer.

I already created a inventory-move warehouse task which links to a tranport task.

By the way,

is it possible to change the Exptect Finished Date or Request Finshed Date of warehouse task?

※This is actually  what my customer exactly want.

Unfortunately, wanted date/Finish Date is not available on a transport task, so it is not possible to plan when a transport task should be performed even via warehouse tasks.

If you check ‘Requested Finish date’ on ‘work load per location group’ window for  task type: Transport Task,  it shows transport task created date  as date/ time when the warehouse task should be done and it is not editable.

Hi @Shou ,

Adding something to what Rangi mentioned:

Warehouse Task Basic Data window -> Warehouse Task Type Setup -> Task Lead Time (min): is the default lead time, in minutes, from the creation to the execution of a task. This value is used to calculate the requested finished date, if it is missing for the warehouse task. The calculation is done by adding the value in this field to the time when the task was received to warehousing. May be you can check these too.

Thanks!
