Hi,

Using Apps 10 UPD14 we have a need for a fixed consumption of certain components regardless of the Shop Order Lot Size. For some Shop Orders we always consume 2 pcs of a critical material as part of the set up.

We are trying to solve this by setting Component Scrap to 2 and Qty Per Assembly to 0, and it works on the Shop Order. However, we cannot set the values on Product Structure which requires Qty Per Assembly > 0 if Consumption Item = Consumed.

Any ideas or suggestions? Could it be a bug?

Hello.

Are you using discrete UoM components? If so you would,

  1. Set 2 as the component scrap on the structure
  2. Have some customisation on the creation of a shop order to amend the qty per assembly to zero for the component, this resulting in what you have just now.

You can amend the qty per assembly on the shop order directly as this is what's changed if you use the alternate component functionality. The process basically sets this at zero prior to adding any alternate in.

If you aren't using discrete Uom components I would,

  1. Set the Qty per assembly on the structure to 0.00000001
  2. Set 2 as the component scrap on the structure

This way you consume as close as to the qty of 2 you require.
