Expected Lead Time in Customer Order

Hi we are looking into standard lead times automatically being added to promised dates when entering Customer Order Lines.

Currently, even if the Expected Lead Time has a value, the initial Promise Date will still be sysdate. We do get an informational text stating that the suggested date should be sysdate + Lead time, but it allows the line to remain at sysdate.

Based on what we read from other forum posts, it seems like this is the opposite to how standard practices work, but we are not sure why our system allows this. Why does the first promise date (during new line creation) not automatically include the Expected Lead Time?

@matthunter I suspect this is happening because you don’t have the Availability Check flag turned on at Inventory Part level.

See below a screenshot from IFS Cloud:

Once this option is checked, then the Promised Delivery Date / Planned Delivery Date / Planned Ship Date / Planned Due Date will be sysdate + Expected Leadtime (considering you don’t have any additional internal picking time / transport times set in Supply Chain Matrix for Customer).

See below an example. Line 1.1 was with Availability Check turned off and line 1.2 was entered after Availability Check was turned on and Expected Leadtime = 30:
