Hi,

We are looking for a way to split a customer order line into multiple shipments (with different dates, as an example) without creating a new customer order line within the same customer order.  Other ERP systems, have the ability to build shipment lines off of a single customer order line to differentiate dates and or even shipping addresses.  Does IFS have this ability?  If so, how is this done?

We currently are using custom logic to build our shop orders from customer order lines - as a result, we want to be able to have realistic ship dates on customer order lines that are split shipping at different times, without adding a new customer order line that would ultimately fire an additional shop order.  We currently wind up with false views of revenue recognition within reporting as a result of only being able to use one shipping date per customer order line.

Thanks for any help/insight!

Hi Curtis,

If your customer order line linked to a shop order will be delivered into different shipments, how do you setup the Wanted Delivery date/Planned Delivery Date?. The expected one for the last batch?

How is then working your custom logic to connect the shop orders to customer order lines?. Is a customer order line linked to several shop orders or just one shop order that it’s being received along the time?

There is just one field for Planned Ship Date, so then how do you expect the system to consider the different shipping dates for the different shipments?. My suggestion is to do partial deliveries of the same customer order line as long as partial quantities are being reserved from shop orders and then considering the ship date available in each specific shipment. Shipment lines of the same customer order line could perhaps cover your requirement.

Regards,

Pilar
