Hi all,

I have a question regarding "Update map Position".

When a technician updates the map position, the current position is updated in the app as the object location.

Is it also synchronized to the back office as the object location? As per the description of the help documents, I understand it that way. But, the MapPositions in the object in the back office was not updated when I tried. Is it only for that task?

Any idea on this?

Cheers.

This command exists in2 places, see here: IFS Cloud - MWO Service demystified (24R1) | IFS Community

Task: Update Map Position uses the current device location (cannot be changed) to update the default map position of the task.

Object: Update Map Position uses the current device location (cannot be changed) to update the default map position of the object.

@Alexander Heinze Thanks.

When I tried map position of the task has been updated but not the object location in the back office (cloud).

Did you click "Update map Position" on the object? On the task it will only update the task location and that’s intended.

I choose the option here.

If you do it on the Object, then it should work. I tried this on 24.1.4 and the latest MWO and it worked as expected.

Yes, I did it in the object.

I will investigate more, Thanks for the input.

Just to explain the UX: When I clicked the button, I got a map showing the old and the new position. I then confirmed the change and immediately saw it in backoffice. Had to switch on GPS of course, wasn’t active before.
