Dear all,

If a person got a person calendar exception assigned for a dedicated time period, it is not possible to schedule a task for that time horizon → error/warning message:

Using the “Is available” checkbox in the person calendar exception gives the possibility to schedule a task nevertheless.

I was expecting to configure this behavior via app params or via business rules. Meaning that we can decide that even without the checkbox “is available” we could  schedule tasks. But this seems not to be possible via simple baseline settings.

Question:

Is this a standard baseline behavior that only via “is available” checkbox in the exception tasks can be scheduled for that time period or am I mistaken and this can be configured in app params or via a business rule (or somewhere else)?

The preferred solution for us would be to define only a warning message e.g.

“overlapping existing exception! do you want to proceed?”

which can be confirmed via yes or canceled via no.

regards,

Thomas

Hi @Thomas Widmoser

If person needs to have a calendar exception which is specific to that person (not available in work calendar) that can be defined in the tab “calendar exception”. If the “is available” ckeck box is checked, that means, that person can be selected for work assignment even it is a exception. That “is available” check box is set to yes by default when creating calendar exception for a person. If that person is not available you can remove that check box manually.

If you want to add just a warning message and confirm it with a “yes” or “no” you may try creating an input XML type business rule based on a particular input. Hope this may help. Many thanks.

Hi @Kalpani Dissanayake ,

thanks for the quick answer. Ok understood, which means the current status quo is baseline and as expected and can’t be changed via simple settings and therefore would require some certain specific configurations via XML business rule, right?

regards,

Thomas

Hi @Thomas Widmoser

Yes, according to baselind scnario, you are not allowed to select that person for a work assignment when that person is having an exception, without selecting “is availble” check box. If you want to do so, you may try a confiuration or check the check box “is available”. Many thanks.
