Hello Community,
What necessary setups are required to calculate the work progress on Work Order screen?
Since my client is not using HR module, I think I cannot use Man Hours concept to calculate the work progress.
I have found that there is one field Work Task screen, but every time I enters progress % in that field, it disappears after saving the record.
Values are auto filled when I connect it to a work progress template, but I would like the ability to manually enter progress % and this should get calculated to give cumulative Work Progress % for all work Task.
Thanks, in advance.
Hi SaaAvinak,
Work Progress template can be connected to a Work Order, and the Progress of the work order is calculated based on the progress of the work tasks connected to it.
It is possible to set a progress manually on a Work Task, which is a valid value per status applicable for the given progress template.
You could refer more information on Work Progress calculation here :
Hope this clarifies.
If you have further questions pls get back.
Thanks & Best Regards

Hello
Currently using apps10 UPD22
I appreciate your provision of the necessary documentation. I regret any shortcomings in my previous attempts to articulate my concerns. Please accept my apologies for any confusion caused.
I would like to enter value in Progress % field manually (on Work Tasks Line) and based on that I would like to have the total progress of entire work order calculated. How can I achievee that?
Scenario 1: When Work Progress template is connected to Work Order
When I enter the value in Progress % field of Work Task lines and click on Save, the values are automatically set to default values set under Progress template.
Scenario 1: When Work Progress template is not connected to Work Order
When I enter the value in Progress % field of Work Task lines and click on Save, the values are automatically set to 0.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more details
Hello
We are currently using APPS10 UPD22
I appreciate your provision of the necessary documentation. I regret any shortcomings in my previous attempts to articulate my concerns. Please accept my apologies for any confusion caused.
My objective is as follows: I would like to manually input the Progress % on Work Task Lines. Based on these values, I want to have the total work progress of the entire Work Order (as reflected in the Work Progress % field on the Work Order screen).
Scenario 1: When the Work Order Progress template is linked to the Work Order,
The Progress % on Work Task lines are automatically populated based on the values from the Work Progress Template. However, when I attempt to modify these values, the Progress % reverts to its original value.
Scenario 2: When the Work Order Progress template is linked to the Work Order
The Progress % on Work Task lines initially appear as 0. When i change them manually, they reset to 0 upon clicking the Save button.
I look forward to your guidance on this matter.

Answering to your questions:
My objective is as follows: I would like to manually input the Progress % on Work Task Lines. Based on these values, I want to have the total work progress of the entire Work Order (as reflected in the Work Progress % field on the Work Order screen).
This is possible but you need to have a Progress Template connected to the Work Order.
Scenario 1: When the Work Order Progress template is linked to the Work Order,
The Progress % on Work Task lines are automatically populated based on the values from the Work Progress Template. However, when I attempt to modify these values, the Progress % reverts to its original value.
When you enter a value manually for the progress it should be a value valid based on the corresponding progress values defined for progress for the relevant work task status.
Scenario 2: When Work Progress template is not connected to Work Order
When I enter the value in Progress % field of Work Task lines and click on Save, the values are automatically set to 0.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to update the progress on Work Tasks when a Progress Template is not connected to a Work Order.
Best Regards
