Thanks for all the attempted help.Unfortunately, I was unable to use the Command_SYS.Mail attachment option due to LAN Segment issues.Ultimately, I wrote a BASH script to send the report as an HTML attachment using sendmail mail.
Actually, Text is fine, however due to the size limitation (32,000 bytes), it doesn’t solve the problem.
Thanks Damith,I had thought of that, but sometimes it is very slow to get things done. I submitted a request, but I never know how long it will take.I figured that Command_Sys.Mail must have an option in to tell it to use a directory on the Database Server rather than the Application Server, which seemed reasonable since the Package runs on the Database. In the meantime, I’ve written a Bash script to poll the database directory and send the email with the attachment.
Thanks William. However, I create my file using UTL_FILE which gets stored in an Oracle defined directory.
I discovered that the problem is with the “Check” button. Everything fails validation. However, if the expression works in SQLPLUS, then it works in IFS. I just put the Expression in and Saved. If it saves, then it is OK.
You are correct. The process for Adding parts into IFS is pretty tedious,I am on IFS8 so the Excel Migration may work better on IFS10. The IFS8 version does not populate all required fields and thus I could not use it. It had some other drawbacks such as not creating the Inventory part in all Sites, which makes moving Parts between sites a real pain (I created an Automated process to Move Parts between Sites as well).Instead, I wrote my own process to Automatically Receive Parts. It does as follows:Creates the Part Catalog Part if it does not already exist using PART_CATALOG_API.Create_Part. Creates the Inventory Part for all Sites if they do not already exist using inventory_part_api.New_Part. Receives the Inventory Part in Stock using inventory_part_in_stock_api.receive_partThe users populate Excel Templates and saves the data as CSV, which is then loaded into an Oracle Staging table for processing.
I ended up using the suggestion from CallumW on the “Yes/No Dialog Box” Link. However, instead of using a Custom Field, I used the Notes field and had the user add an “Override” string that I would not have to create another Custom Field. It is not a perfect solution, but it satisfies the need.
