Has anyone implemented work instructions within IFS and or attached fillable PDF forms attached to shop orders that when submitted attach to the shop order they originated from. Trying to create work flow that assemblers, techs and engineers can verify the work being done is being documented within the shop order thereby eliminating the paperwork associated with creating build binders / work travelers to a paperless e-traveler / build binder.

Ours are just PDF work instructions users to not enter any data into the PDF’s. We actually capture information from the shop orders in a Microsoft Power App. The Microsoft Power App has the ability to generate a PDF when the operator marks it complete which we currently manually attach to the shop order. We are hoping to use in the future the RestAPI to attach the document to the shop order automatically once we have a Microsoft Power Automate connector.

Yes, we have work guidelines setup as Subtask where some are required to be signed off directly in IFS. This forces the operator to perform the signoff prior to completing the operation step.
It is for our Italian operation, so excuse the wording, but you get the idea.
We have not used forms though for the signoff, just the tasks directly.

We link a PDF to the line of routing operation work guidelines for each part number and operation.
When an operator RMB on the operation line of a shop order and chooses work guide lines they are able to see the PDF attached.

+3William, thank you for following up. I should have been more clear, I take it these are just Work Instructions or are they fillable PDF forms. That is what I meant if they were fillable forms, when you hit the save / submit button where does the fillable pdf save to and if they attached to the shop order where they are opened from. If its confusing I apologize, other than using work guidelines to capture the work done in a work instruction, how would you say record a torque value as a result of an action within the shop order. We currently capture this outside of IFS on paper and scan back and attach it to the shop order.
