The Control Plan Status Active is Mandatory Ticked
Hello,As seen in the attached picture on the Quality Basic Data page, the marked parts are not marked. However, its status is inactive as seen in the 2nd picture on the Control Plan page. Then, when activated as shown in the 3rd picture, it automatically marks the Mandatory part. Then, on the Quailty Basic Data page, the marked area in the 4th picture becomes ticked. How can I avoid this situation?

Hi,
The parts are automatically marked as mandatory because the data points are connected to Sample Frequency Triggers (which can be seen in your 2nd screen shot).
However, there are occasions when you may not want to mandate the entry of analysis results eventhough there are sample frequency triggers (such as ‘Start Shop Order’) in place.
The system then allows you to untick the mandatory check boxes with a warning message.
I hope that this helps.
Hi,
This automatic setting of the checkbox is basically necessary from a quality point of view. If this is to be circumvented for your process, this can be solved with an custom event. This event should deactivate the checkboxes in the basic data whenever the control plan is set to active.
Hope this helps.

In what occasions you would not want a mandatory analysis result? Can you give me an example? I struggle with this issue in my company and I can hardly argue with our Quality guy. In our case, there are times in which shop orders simply have to be closed, with no completed quantity. In thoses cases, I think I should be able to remove the mandatory and then close the order, right? In my case, I do not have the rights to remove “Mandatory” checkbox.
Hi @Guto
Basically, if an analysis is specified as mandatory, it should always be carried out without exception (or only a very high authority may authorise a justified exception and temporarily change the setting to "not mandatory").
However, there are also some customers who do not specify a mandatory analysis for less sensitive parts, but if necessary (e.g. if the delivered purchased part looks ‘strange’) an analysis with predefined inspection steps can be triggered manually. And this is the scenario where I have an active control plan, but the checkbox in the basic data list is not set to mandatory.
