Hi all,

We are implementing Aurena and doing some testing and I have a shop order where the start date and finish dates are the same. The routing is set up with no M/C run time and a Labour run time of 240 hours.

The need date is 3 months in the future.

Reardless of the direction of scheduling should the operation hours be reflected in the Start date and finsh date, i.e. 240 hours different. Thereofre with a need date of 21/10/24 and backward scheduling have a finish date of 18/10/24 and a Start date of 06/09/24

In your scenario, I create a 0 cost Work Center and match the machine run time to the labor run time, so you can schedule the operation.

Thank you for the response. So if the shop order is for manual assembly you would have to set machine run time, even though no machine?

Yes, with infitie scheduling only the manufacturing time is considered. Which is a bit confusing as for the lead time calculation you can select Labor, Machine or whatever is longest. 

 

I always explain it as the Work Center is, in this case, representing an ‘assembly area’ rather than a machine.

 

This could also give some useful data as if you did have a restiction in the total amount of manual assembly you can do at once e.g. this particular part would use up a large area of floorspace to assemble, you could use the machine Resource Share to represent how much of your assembly area will be used up by each shop order.
