Is there a limit to the number of Shop Orders that can be Reserved in one hit? Seems to be 120?
Is there any recommended alternative approach where we have more than 120 to reserve in one go?
Thanks

A determined User who regularly has in excess of 120 Shop Orders to reserve in one go and “didn’t used to have that issue in Apps9” ...
Hi Linda,
I’m not sure what is the criteria that is used to select this many shop orders in a one go, and Reserve. If the IFS Cloud application is not allowing you to select many SOs and Reserve in a single click, then I believe it is due to a performance issue (have seen similar limitations in other places as well).
However, you could try the below method to Reserve a large number of SOs in a single job. Unless you have tried this already .
Create a Process Type like below
Set the Process Type to the relevant SOs (you can set the Process Type to the Inventory Part/Manufacturing tab, so in the future SOs will have this value by default, at the creation)
Then execute the Auto Processing job (Now or as a scheduled task)
As a result, the applicable SOs are now Reserved through the job.
In case your selection of SOs is more complicated than this then I suggest you report that 120 records limitation as an issue to IFS or investigate for a customisation.
Our criteria is that we have a lot of shop orders that have long leadtime parts so we need to identify shortages early on … will be one thing but 120 isn’t that many, is it? Surely there are other companies with many more?
Are you able to expand on the “due to a performance issue” comment? Is that us and our hardware or a limitation of Cloud?
Thanks for your alternative suggestion. It gives me a good feeling to know we’re on the right track - we were testing out that Auto Process functionality yesterday!

Hi Linda,
Yes, you are correct, some situations require reserving a large number of SOs at once.
What I have generally seen is customers using this job, that too mostly as a scheduled task. Glad to hear that you are already looking in to that...
Regarding the performance, first someone needs to technically investigate why it is not allowing to Reserve a large number of records at once, is it designed like that or something that can be expanded without hindering the performance or causing any technical issues.
Hi @Tharindu
I think this was the heart of my original question ie does anyone here on the community know if this is what I should expect or is anyone else successfully reserving 120+ shop orders. You said you believed it was due to a performance issue and you’d seen it before so I just thought you knew what the issue was...

Will report on to IFS…
Thanks
