Hi,

My customer is looking for the possibility to have a multilevel configured structure for a Shop order, but where phantom parts are still present.

I know Manufacturing structure screen allow the user to get the full multilevel mBOM, yet it is not a configured mBOM.

On DOP header, there is also a multilevel mBOM, which is configured, yet phantom parts are not visible (because they’re phantoms).

Does someone know if a report that would generate the following bom can be built ? :

  • Multilevel BOM
  • Configured BOM
  • Phantom parts are visible

I think this would be helpful for others too !

Hi,

We are building aerial ropeways  in an ETO, EPC, complex project environment with a high manufacturing depth. This requires multilevel product structures up to 15 levels. We make extensive use of phantom parts (MRP Code P).

Some assembly shop orders for a fabrication group may have up to 2000 components on one shop order as a result of multilevel blow-through of those phantom parts.

Therefore we have the requirement to have those phantom parts still present to have some means to keep a structured part mBOM in Shop orders.

We have customized this as follows:

  • additional tab in shop order: Multilevel K-Part Structure
    • giving a view of standard material lines plus all components with MRP-Code P (or K-parts) visible (marked in green)
    • the phantom parts are used in the shop order reports to keep the structure visible
  • structure ordering in column “Ordering” - in a multilevel chapter format
  • supports even multilevel MRP-Code P blow through
  • RMB function “Replace phantom” (to support changes on any level of phantom elements including all sub-levels.
  • this supports all processes, where a shop order is created from a product structure.
  • this does not support engineering parts  with provide code phantom

I think this would be helpful for others too !
