Could someone explain to me in detail the purpose of the W/D/R option?
How to use it correctly and what impacts does it cause when used?

Rafael,

Basically, a W/D/R number indicates that specific parts are not standard in some way.

An inventory location can contain the same parts, but the same parts can have different W/D/R numbers.

This number is used for tracking or selection purposes and can be used along with the availability control.

You can specify a W/D/R number on the line in connection with a purchase order receipt, or change it for a part in inventory, or when receiving a shop order.

Antony

I understood. So W/D/R by itself does not block the Material, only if used in conjunction with the control ID. Correct?

Another question. If I put W/D/R on a material and send it to a subcontractor for rework, when that material comes back do I need to use the same W/D/R?

Correct, the w/d/r number by itself does not block the material.

If you send a part to a subcontractor for work with a w/d/r reference then I don’t believe that you need to use the same w/d/r number when it comes back since the sub contractor may have fixed the issue.

whereas W/D/R does not cause any type of blockage. So it should also not interfere with anything when using the backflush. Correct?

Correct, it should not interfere with backflushing
