Import External Product Structure in IFS CLOUD it’s the best solution?
IFS Cloud Documentation

Prepare the file for import: The file should be in Excel format and contain the items you want to import. Ensure that the file is ready for import by removing any headers and saving it as a CSV file with semicolon as the delimiter.

File without headers

Configure the external layout: Be sure to configure the external layout correctly by paying attention to the conversion of the file to CSV or TXT format.

Open Import External Product Structure

Create a list of items: Create a list of items that you want to import.

Configure External Layout with Delimiter

Create a construction item: If the construction item does not exist, create one.

Are there existing parts?

Connect to the construction item: Connect the imported items to the construction item.

Check the import result: Check the import result to ensure that the import was successful.

Disadvantages of this approach in case of a larger number of items:

1. Lack of columns in the imported file for more detailed item specification.

2. The need to import individual parts of the structure gradually, which is time-consuming in case of larger structures and data migration will be faster.

However, this may not be suitable for users who lack some of the knowledge necessary for migration.

Cloud has a bug. It gets to the create parts screen and seems to take the ‘create new parts’ to a ghost table; then, when you say to insert them to the Consists Of tab the validation says the parts already exists. If anyone has found same or work around let me know.

Update. I spent time trying to determine the meaning of the error code “Part already exists….”

Trial and error: found that the .csv file in cloud only has the table room for about 30 records at a time to upload. IEE you could upload 1000 records. This may be a table size issue IFS needs to fix. And change the error logged error message that has meaning; like “Upload limited to XXXX records.”

@AstJeffjK Which version is this. Would like to learn if this has been solved in current or upcoming cloud versions.
