Hi! We manufacture serialized devices. Each device is programmed firmware, and the firmware is frequently updated. We want to have version traceability. We had the idea to create a non-inventory part for the software, and include it as a component of a product structure so that it can be selected in that way. However, this doesn’t seem to work. Does anyone know if it’s possible to have a non-inventory part as a component of a shop order? And, if not, does anyone have advice for firmware traceability when manufacturing devices? i.e. we want to know what versions of which software was installed when creating each lot.
