 We are using APPS10 UPD14

When in the screen Move Inventory Part, we query for a site and the details lines don’t match what is in the header.  See below:

Query for Part and Site (37):

Header is correct (Site 37) however, the table rows below display Site 37 AND Site 15, it should only show Site 37.

@wilmichelle this observation aligns with the designed behavior of the window.

This window also allows moving parts between sites, therefore it should be possible to enter other sites. The site filed in the header of Move Inventory Part window refers to the site where the part is currently located (moving from site). The site in the line level refer to the site that parts can be moved to. If the part exists in other locations (disregarding the site), those locations are shown in the line level. An existing line can be modified or it is possible to add a new line with a different site as long as the user has access to the site. However there are some restrictions, such as if the part is in reserved state, it is not possible to move to another site etc (in your example, there is no reserved parts)..

You can test this on your own.

  1. Create inventory parts in two different sites (could be two sites in different companies)
  2. Add inventory parts using Receive Inventory Part window to the first site
  3. Query for the part and site in Move Inventory Part window
  4. Notice that there is no line in the line level - that is because the part does not exist in any other location in any site
  5. Now add parts using Receive Inventory Part window to the next site
  6. Query for the part and site in Move Inventory Part window again
  7. Notice that you can see a line in the lines level and it shows the second site, because now the same part is available in the second site location. If you query for the part in the second site, you see the first site in the line level
  8. If you want to move the part to another site (third site), then add a new line and select the required site in the LoV

Query for the part in site 1

Query for the part in site 70

Thank you for the response.  Is it possible to turn off the ability to move parts between sites, we don’t want that to be available.  We require our users to do a stock transfer.  Thank you!
