Downtime Cause not entered for Clocking

As of 22R2, a Downtime clocking can be started without providing a Downtime Cause.

At what point in the production clocking/reporting process is it required to have a value in the Downtime Cause field, e.g., a value must be entered before ‘X’ occurs or before ‘X’ can happen. What is ‘X’?

This field cannot remain blank forever, or can it?

The system does not require a downtime cause to have been entered at any specific time. But if you have downtime on any work center resource valid for the current filter without a defined downtime cause a badge will indicate this in shop floor workbench.
