Hi,

We are production company and we are using assembled semi-finished products on our finished products.

These assembled semi-finished products have their own BOM in IFS under “Structure”.

In our product BOM list, these semi-finished products added.

The question is;

Is there any way to make these semi-finished products as Phantom so when we put to the BOM, only the parts under the code will added to the BOM not the semi-finished product code.

To setup the semi-finished product as a phantom you should assign it Planning Method = P (or K). P will allow you to have the part in stock, while K will not be allowed to keep in stock.

When a shop order is created for the finish product for a P part the logic will check if you have enough of the P-part in stock, if yes it will add it as a material line, if no, it will explode the phantom BOM and add the components of the P-part.

For a K part the BOM is always exploded into its components on the shop order.
