Hi All,

We need to find a place to keep information about our CNC Programs

We have no module for that

Do you have idea where we can put this information in IFS ?

The information we need is:

Part No

Revision

Material (Sheet Metal)

Lot Size (we have programs for whole sheets and bars)

Work Centers (on which program can be performed)

Because work centers and material is needed so i thoughr that we can put this information within routing and/or structure window. We could possibly do it with custom field.

Do you have any other idea ? Does someone do that before ?

Also, we should be able to attach the file within this window but its not a sine qua non

Hi @dz1d3k,

You can use Standard Operation window to define a CNC Program.

In it you can define your CNC Machine as a Work center.

You can add Run factor (Machine Run Factor) for particular CNC Program, Labor Class which you are going to use with the time taken for the program (Labor run factor).

Further more, you can define tools which you are going to use for the CNC program (Under Standard Operation tools tab), relevant Work Instructions (Under Standard operation Work Guidelines tab).

Nevertheless, you can add your CNC program file as an attachment for the standard operation.

Later, when you want to use your Particular CNC program to manufacture a desired Part, you can add the Standard operation to the Routing window of particular part.

The used Material can be added under Product Structure of the part.

Since you can use same CNC program to Manufacture different Parts, with Different Material, defining CNC programs separately (using standard operation window), would be effective.

When performing programs, or manufacturing parts using the desired CNC program, you can use Shop Order window. It will refer Product Structure, routing details of part. There you can define the lot batch number.

Note: If your part needs to have a Lot batch number, you need to make sure your Inventory part is lot batch tracked.

Let me know if you need further clarification.

Thanks,

Jagath
