Hi Team,

I need assistance with an error please. The customer is trying to do an “All Levels Part Cost Calculation”

  1. The Inventory Part below is a Manufactured part

  1. When you execute the “All Levels Part Cost Calculation” for Cost Set 2

If I look at the Inventory Transactions History the Total Cost for the part is not in a negative

  1. Do you have any idea why the error message would come up, and how would we fix this?

HI;

This can happen if you have defined a by product and “Use By Product Cost Distribution” is not set in the product Structure Alternate.

Then when the cost is calculated for the part the Cost of the Byproduct is reduced to calculate the Cost of the Main Part.

If the calculated cost of the Byproduct is > Calculated Cost of the main Part, then you will get this error.

So either Check the use by Product Cost Distribution in the * Product Structure Alternate of the main part or reduce the Qty/Assembly of the by Product or add more Operation Costs or Material Costs by defining Material and Operation Costs for the Main Part.
