Is it possible to create a Business Reporter report using information from multiple data sources?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Are you referring to having multiple information sources in the BR report?  If it is the case when you click on ‘Go to Design’, the dialog box for selecting information sources will appear. Here you have the option to select one or more information sources.

Hi @johnw66

Yes it is possible but be cautious when you are using repeaters and other design elements.

(For example when you want to have a design column/row with items from several information sources, make sure the items you are using for the repeater is common to every selected information source ).

Hi @johnw66,

Yes, you can use multiple information sources within one report (Excel sheet) if you are using common dimensions.

A common dimension is a dimension which exists in both information sources. For instance the dimension Company is part of many information sources and can be called a common dimension.

That means you can use the dimension item company togehter with other measure items of e.g. customer invoice, supplier invoice, etc.

As soon as you are using a dimension which not exists in the information sources you want to connect you will get an error.

There can also be the case that you have a light item in one information source which is a dimension item in another information source. For instance the light item Identity in information source gl transcation and customer no in dimension customer of information source customer invoice.

In this case you cannot connect them directly in the design and use only one repeater. Here you need to create and output for information source A and information source B and create the connection with Excel formulas.

Please keep in mind that this way is maybe slower as more data sets will be rendered.

Best regards
