Hi,

Is there a column/way we can categorize suppliers?

We would like to categorize our suppliers into groups

example Parts, Services, Labour , Freight etc.

Hi @Jdaniel ,

I would use the supplier statistics group on the purchase tab.  You can define the groups in the supplier basic data setup.

Hi @Jdaniel,

You may also use Supplier Groups for this purpose as well.

You can define new groups using Supplier Group window.

Thanks & best regards,

Buddhika

As suggested by Buddhika Nanayakkara, categorizing Suppliers using Supplier Groups functionality would be the ideal solution for your requirement.

Hi @Jdaniel

There are multiple ways to categorized suppliers which vary with your underlying purpose. That is whether for invoicing or purchasing purposes.

When it comes to invoicing, you can use below field.

Then when it comes to purchasing, you can use follow.

As per examples given by you, i believe it is better to go with latter ( statistic group ) but if your ultimate objective is invoicing, better option would be Supplier group under invoicing.
