Hello together,
who can tell me what the retention periods are for scanned travel expense documents? Are employees allowed to destroy their scanned documents directly after the travel expense report? Or do they still have to be kept?!
I would be very grateful for any feedback. Thank you.

I would say this all depends on the rules and regulations of respective country (accounting law/act). In Sweden for example, the law say that you must save the original receipts 3 years and after that you have to save the digital copy for 4 more years.
