Property Codes under Company details window

Hi Team,

 

One of our customers raised two questions through a support ticket. Could you please kindly answer the questions below,

 

  1. Is adding a property code (Ex: PAYCURR, PAYCURRRATE) under the Property tab of the Company details window only a requirement after UPD8?
  2. How might adding different property codes affect the system or the application?

Hi Peshala,

  1. Adding Properties under Company Details is not really a requirement. The properties are optional settings which can be used to control different aspects of HCM. However, if you want to achieve a certain system behavior, then the designated solution might be to active and set a Property under Company Details. Properties in Company Details have existed before App10 UPD8, but it can be that the solution for a certain behavior was introduced in UPD8. 
  2. The Properties are used as a way of controlling (setting) how the HCM module should behave in a specific aspects and for the specific Company to which you add the Property. You can read about each property,  what it controls and the settings, under the Product Documentation > Organization Administration > About System Defined Property Codes.
