I have a client requirement where the supervisor is in one branch of the organization and the employee is in another.  The branch were the employee is located is not in the same line as the supervisor.

In the example below, the supervisor (Employee 13) is in branch 250MGT, the employee to be supervised (Employee 18) is in branch FINSL.

The supervisor (Employee 13) is in branch 250MGT, the employee to be supervised (Employee 18) is in branch FINSL.

Here is the employee file assignments for each.

I added the employee 18’s position as an accessible position to employe 13, but it does not show 13 as a supervised employee.

I can add access to the entire branch, as below, but the supervised employees are all of them. (employee 17 and 18)

Employee 17 is not in the same position as 18.  I don’t understand what the first access set up even does.  I thought it would give access to one position in branch FINSL. Below is 17’s employee file just in case someone asks.

@ddecker : In Supervisor Access Set-up, click on ‘Include Subordinate’ flag. It will show the employee in ‘Supervised Employee’ list.

Alternatively, if you want to give access to only one position, use ‘Position Access Set-up’ screen.  Example shown below:

Hello @vickyrohilya ,

I toggled the Include Subordinate flag.  It did not make a difference.

Position access does not work either.  I thought they had to be in the same organization branch for this to work.

Regards,

I figured out the problem.  The in the supervisor access window needs to be the supervisor position.

Then the subordinate position is accessible so long as it is defined in the Position Access window.
