Hello

We are using Employee File → Employment → Free Fields to define some employment details of the employee.

We noticed that after we use the “Terminate Employment” system automatically changes “Valid To” date for all the “Free Fields” to the date that we initially selected as “Notification Date” and “Employment End Date” in the assistant. We tried removing (disabling) the “Free Fields Valid To Date” from the “HR Assistant Configuration”, but still the “Valid To” dates to all “Free Fields” are being updated.

Is it possible to turn of the processing of the “Free Fields” when “Terminate Employment” is used?

Hi,

you are correct.

I treid it, and got the same result:

Valid until 31.12.9999 and End of Employment on 31.12.3000.

Terminated to end of 3000, but set the Property Code valid To Date to 31.12.8888

The date is also limited to 31.12.3000.

Maybe IFS thought, you could change the date, but only less than End date, as you should not have access from now on, but not longer than the end date.

If you think, this is wrong, you should make a case for IFS.

Otherwise you have to correct it manually afterwards.

Hi @JONEDE

Thanks for sharing the info.

This wouldn’t be the problem in IFS itself, but we have integrations (API) which push the Custom Field data to other applications. Of course that means that upon employee leaving this data is being removed in connected external applications.
