Hi All,

We’re looking to upgrade to IFS cloud in the future (from IFS 10), but a major concern is the lack of support for Kaba.   We rely on Kaba terminals to capture our clockings for our payroll and flexi balances.

We can’t use Time Clock because more than 50% of our users never log onto a computer. They simply swipe their card against the terminal when they come and go.

Has anyone upgraded to IFS cloud and continuted to use their Kaba setup?  Or if it’s not possible can anyone recommend any other terminal providers and how they connect with IFS Cloud?

Many thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott

IFS will function with Kaba following a Cloud upgrade and have developed a solution to support the integration.

I’d recommend you reach out to IFS directly and discuss further.

Thanks

Colin

Hi,

Curious…

What do you mean with “We can’t use Time Clock because more than 50% of our users never log onto a computer”.

Users don’t have to log on to use TIme clock.

We have many customers using Time Clock for their “blue collars” that only have their tag or card to swipe In / Out .

Regards,

Maria

Hi Colin,

Thanks for this.  It’s reassuring that IFS will function with Kaba.  We’ve been told that we need to move to Time Clock.

Thanks!

Scott

Hi Maria,

Thanks for this.  I was under the impression that users would need to log into IFS to use Time Clock? It’s good to know that that is not the case.

If we can replicate what we have with Kaba that would be perfect.  Basically our users simply swipe the terminals and are “Clocked in” or “Clocked out” with no button presses.

Thanks again!
Scott

The employees need to be setup as time clock users and a swipe card reader enabled, with card number linked to the employee. Whilst there is a small outlay for hardware i.e. tablets, readers and cards, I think there is also a small cost per time clock user however the time clock solution has a lower total cost of ownership than a Kaba solution.
