Hello everyone.

Just a quick question. I have several different positions.

In a parent organisation, I have an employee in the manager position.

Dans l'organisation fille, j'ai un autre employé avec la position manager et plusieurs autres avec la position Employé.

The manager of the parent organisation supervises the employees, but does not supervise the manager of the daughter organisation.

It is not possible for a manager to be the supervisor of another manager if the level of organisation is different? Do we have to have yet another level of position?

Wishing you a great day

Hi @ksebf ,

I didn’t get your question clearly. Do you want to restrict the Parent Manager accessing the Child organization's manager position? Hope you can try exclude the specific position in that scenario.

Best Regards,

Lasanthi

Hi,

Just like Lasanthi, I’m not sure about the exact meaning of the question. What is the function of the supervisor of the employees in the child unit, when the manager in the parent unit should only have access to those employees and not to that supervisor? That doesn’t seem very logical. Nevertheless, you might solve it by assigning the same position to the supervisor in the child unit and the manager in the parent unit (of course, in the position access setup for that particular position, the toggle Include Access to Position Holder should be inactive).

Best regards,

Martin

Hello guys,

Thanks for your quick answers. Sorry, I was on holiday.

I have a manager C1 in the organization C. I also have a manager C2 ans an employee C.

I have two subordinates organization, F and G with Managers and Employees F and G.

In the access configuration my Manager C1 is manager of all the managers and employees subordinates (F and G), but also the manager of Manager C2 and Employee C.

How can I configure the positions in order to make Manager C1 manager of Employee C, manager of all managers and employee F and G, but not manager of Manager C2 which is in the same unit of organization ?

And how is configured my position configuration.

Hi @ksebf ,

As you stated your Managers C1, C2 and employee C are in same organization. How about their positions? Probably C1 and C2  may in the same position, but not C. Therefore, when setting position access grants, you can set C1 can access lower positions, but not the same position. ( the toggle Include Access to Position Holder should be inactive).

Hi Lasanthi,

Yeah, C1 and C2 are in the same position. I want that C1 can access same position in subordinate organization unit, but not same position in the same subordinate organization unit.

I tested th toggle you mentioned before, but as you mentionned, and it’s not the desired result.

C1 is now the supervisor of SALARIE C, SALARIE G, and SALARIE F, but is not anymore the supervisor of MANAGER G and MANAGER F

Hi @ksebf ,

If C1 can see Manager G and Manager F, but not C2 means obviously C1 and C2 should be similar and have a higher position . The best solution I can suggest is to give them 2 positions in position Structure. eg : Manager -Level1 and Manager - Level2.
