As I create custom fields, I would like the column header text to word wrap to preserve page width. I see that IFS does this natively for some of the column headers. Is there a character I can place in the column prompt that will word wrap to two lines?

Not in a specific custom field.
If using Apps 10 with Enterprise Explorer, you can use this setting:
Enter your username or e-mail address. We'll send you an e-mail with instructions to reset your password.
