With IFS Cloud (Aurena) we got as functionality Rest APIs. Those allow us to pull data out of IFS and on the other hand we have the option to use POST for a set of data.
With IFS22R1 in mind what would be possible problems if Rest APIs would be used for a migration of data (think of both master data and some transactional data)?
These items I think of:
- Not always easy to find the correct API to use
- Sequence of starting the correct API in a sequence (think of CO header and lines after that)
- Passing results from first API call to next requires programming/coding
- Upgrading may influence the working of API and migration has to be tested again
