Since we’ve updated from Apps 10 update 9 to update 22, printing standard report designer reports to a local network printer (i.e. \\printsvr\myprinter) not through a print agent, on the printer we get the error ‘“the appropriate paper size, custom, is not available. Select another paper size, then press ok to start printing.”

The user presses OK and it will print. 

You can hit the preview button instead and print it from within Edge and it works just fine.

Is there a way to get the old behavior back?

Check the defined paper size for the specific report in ‘Report Definition’ screen. Guessing it is A4 you are attempting to print. If the definition says custom size, you may want check whether changing it to A4 works. Possibly the layout was designed to another size. Check this in a non-PROD environment to make sure it doesn’t cause issues.
