We are looking to use OCR technology with IFS to remove manual order entry and other key aspects that are manual processes today. Has anyone else done this?

If so, what software or company did you use to integrate with (ABBYY, PAGERO, etc.)?

Nathan,

Novacura offers this functionality. OCR is done frequently but there are now services out there that use OCR with artificial intelligence and machine learning to train models or recognize custom models. For example, Microsoft Cognitive Services offers standard models to recognize invoices, receipts, business cards, and IDs. But you can also train custom models to recognize your specific documents. You can read about it here. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/form-recognizer/

If you are looking for specific endpoints for OCR, these are offered as a service as well. See documentation here: https://westus.dev.cognitive.microsoft.com/docs/services/56f91f2d778daf23d8ec6739/operations/56f91f2e778daf14a499e1fc

Novacura has embedded this technology into its toolset so that you can quickly train models and utilize them within web or mobile apps. We are doing this with our customers in areas such as deduction processing, invoice processing, and more. These technologies can help:

  • Save time and money by automating and optimizing routine processes and tasks
  • Increase productivity and operational efficiencies
  • Make faster business decisions based on outputs from cognitive technologies
  • Data integrity: avoid mistakes and 'human error'
