Hi,
We have migrated Inventory Parts into a clean database, with the valuation method FIFO. When we migrated stock in they are at zero value. How do we get the Unit cost migrated in?
Thanks

There’s a lot to unpack here. Are you migrating using the MTK (Migration Tool Kit)
Are you using the Inventory Part Cost Detail migration container? (more detailed cost bucket breakdown that cost bucket 110)
With the MTK On-Hand Balances migration, row 26 gives an explanation on whether to use the Inventory Part Cost Detail migration:
Unit Cost. Provides a unit cost for receipt operations when a part is placed into stock (e.g. NREC transaction). This unit cost is associated with cost bucket 110. A null value is strongly recommended. Use the IPCost Detail mapping which allows a much more flexible expression of a part's cost detail. |
Simply, in the On-Hand Balances migration, setting row 26 INVENTORY_VALUE = TIP Cost] should pick up that cost into IFS . At least it does for me.
Hope that helps more than confuses.
Thanks, I’ll give that a go.
